Yas Marina Circuit has partnered with the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC) to launch this year’s Power of Pink campaign, running throughout October to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The month-long initiative is designed to combine the circuit’s community and wellness programming with ADPHC’s Check What Really Matters health initiative. Organisers said the campaign will encourage people to prioritise their health and wellbeing while raising awareness focused on breast cancer prevention and care.
According to the release, Power of Pink is structured around four key moments: Power to Move, Power to Heal, Power to Care, and Power to Celebrate. Each activation is intended to offer different ways for participants to take steps toward looking after their own health and to support others.
Sessions scheduled in late October
The announcement says the next campaign session will take place on 26 October, under the theme Power to Celebrate, described as a community gathering.
In addition, a TrainYAS Ladies session will be held on 27 October. The organisers specify that this event is women-only and is positioned as an evening dedicated to women’s health and wellbeing.
Public health messaging from ADPHC
Dr. Durra Mohammed Alblooshi, Acting Executive Director of the Community Health Sector at ADPHC, said the centre aims to promote public health awareness by engaging directly with community members at local community and recreational events. She said this approach helps ADPHC communicate health messages more closely to the public and emphasises the importance of giving healthcare priority in daily life.
Alblooshi added that the campaign aligns with ADPHC’s broader Care About What Matters effort, which she said is intended to support a prevention-focused culture and help address concerns and misconceptions that may prevent women from attending regular screenings. She encouraged women to take proactive steps toward their health and stressed the importance of regular screening, describing awareness as the starting point for preventive care that becomes part of everyday decision-making.
Yas Marina Circuit on community wellness activities
Nimer Shweikeh, Portfolio & Programs Director at Yas Marina Circuit, said the campaign will bring the community together through a series of “meaningful moments” centred on movement, wellbeing, support, and celebration throughout October. He said the circuit’s activations aim to encourage participants to prioritise their health, support those around them, and focus on ADPHC’s messaging.
Power of Pink and its associated activities are scheduled to take place across the month, with the late-October events on 26 and 27 October highlighted in the announcement.
