Yas Marina Circuit has announced a new consumer driving experience on its race track: a Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992) package that allows participants to drive the car themselves or ride as a passenger alongside a professional driver.
The circuit said the new experience is designed to “rise” the level of track driving options available at Yas Marina Circuit, positioning the Porsche 911 GT3 RS as a performance-focused model tailored for circuit use. The announcement states that, for the first time, car enthusiasts will be able to experience one of the world’s most sought-after performance cars on the Yas Marina track as part of the circuit’s experiences programme.
Yas Marina Circuit described the 911 GT3 RS as among the most sports-oriented versions of the 911 line, adding that the vehicle has been engineered for exceptional on-track performance. According to the release, guests will be able to test the car’s acceleration, braking, cornering and precision control during the track session in the environment the company says the car is made to excel in.
Driving or passenger experience
The circuit said the format will suit different preferences. Those who want to drive will take part from behind the wheel, while those who prefer not to handle driving duties can experience the performance from the passenger seat alongside a professional driver.
In a statement, Ali Al Bisher, General Manager at Yas Marina Circuit, said the circuit’s goal is to make high-performance motorsport and driving accessible in what he called a unique and exceptional setting. He added that the Porsche 911 GT3 RS represents the peak of what can be delivered by a track-focused road car, and that adding it to the circuit’s driving experiences gives car fans the chance to try a model he described as an icon in high-performance motoring.
Al Bisher also said the experience is designed to offer participants a “real glimpse” into the capabilities of the 911 GT3 RS on track, whether they choose to drive or ride as a passenger.
Part of Yas Marina’s wider experience programme
The Porsche 911 GT3 RS driving experience will join a broader set of driving options offered at Yas Marina Circuit, the announcement said. The circuit indicated the programme is aimed at both experienced motorsport participants and those who want to try a high-performance vehicle they may not otherwise have access to.
Yas Marina Circuit said pricing and booking details will be announced at a later date.
