RTA and Al Etihad Payments sign deal for next-gen nol–Jaywan cards

Reported: 4 November 2026

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Al Etihad Payments (AEP) have signed a strategic partnership to launch the next generation of nol–Jaywan cards, linking transport ticketing upgrades with national card payment services.

The announcement says the project is tied to RTA’s planned move to account-based ticketing (ABT) technology, with the new cards intended to support a more integrated digital experience for users across public transport and related services.

Dubai Media Office reports that the rollout will begin with a pilot this November, covering RTA’s public transport services and transport categories including taxis and public parking. It adds that subsequent phases will be introduced after the pilot.

RTA and AEP say the cards will allow holders to use the nol system for travel while also benefiting from payment services through Jaywan, the UAE’s national card scheme.

According to the release, card activation and use will support smartphone options for users on Android and iOS, and the cards can be used across public and private transportation and online booking platforms.

The partners say cardholders will also receive promotional offers and discounts as part of the value-added experience.
