Dubai Police say it has arrested 34 suspects for operating 33 unlicensed nurseries across different areas of the emirate.
Authorities said some of the nurseries were set up inside residential buildings and in locations described as not equipped for childcare, adding that the places lacked hygiene, health and safety requirements.
Dubai Police said the campaigns were carried out through field campaigns and investigative operations, in cooperation with Dubai Municipality, the Community Development Authority, and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, with the aim of strengthening child protection and stopping illegal childcare services.
The force said it is warning parents, particularly in communities being targeted, against choosing nurseries based only on low fees, urging them to verify that a nursery has an official licence before enrolling children.
Dubai Police also called on community members to report suspected illegal nursery activity.
