Sheikh Mohammed approves 2026 Global Star Rating services results

Reported: 4 November 2026

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced the results of the sixth cycle of the Global Star Rating System for Services 2026.

Dubai Media Office reports that the Traffic and Licensing Services Centre in Fujairah, part of the Ministry of Interior, achieved a 7-star rating, described as the first service channel to reach that level since the system began in 2011. The cycle evaluated 179 service channels across 27 federal government entities, said to be the largest assessment in the system’s 15-year history.

What the announcement says about service quality

  • The results, released under the system launched in 2011, measure service quality and progress based on customer experience.
  • Dubai Media Office says overall government performance improved on previous cycles, with call centres showing the strongest improvement.
  • In the statement, Sheikh Mohammed framed service delivery goals as matching top private-sector standards such as hotels, banks and airlines in speed and reliability.
  • The announcement also describes the star rating tool as part of a broader effort to encourage continuous improvement and adoption of global best practices.

The press release notes the rating framework covers service centres, digital channels and call centres, and provides each entity with indicators to guide future upgrades.
