Alkalma Health and Wellbeing and the Takalam mental wellbeing platform have announced a strategic partnership aimed at connecting digital access to mental health support with in-person clinical care in the United Arab Emirates.
The companies said the collaboration, unveiled on 22 October 2026, will combine Takalam’s digital platform capabilities with alkalma’s clinical expertise and structured wellbeing programmes. The partners said the goal is to make it easier for individuals and families to find support and continue receiving care as their needs change.
Connecting online support with clinical follow up
According to the announcement, the digital platform, powered by Takalam, will allow users to discover services, book appointments and access telehealth consultations. The release also states that the platform includes AI solutions and provides follow-up support.
The partners said they will jointly develop care pathways that link the platform to alkalma’s clinical services, with the intent of supporting access to appropriate care beyond an initial digital interaction.
Workplace and school wellbeing programmes
The partnership also includes mental wellbeing support in everyday settings. The companies said they will combine capabilities through alkalma’s Joyful at work and BLOOM programmes, alongside Takalam’s wellness at work initiative, focusing on workplace and school wellbeing.
Under the plan described in the release, the wellbeing programmes are intended to support employees, students and surrounding community groups, with digital support designed to connect back to clinical expertise.
Company statements
Dr Emilio Herrara Molina, CEO at alkalma, said that “People’s needs do not begin and end with an appointment,” adding that support may start online and later require clinical care, with families, schools and workplaces playing a continuing role. He said the partnership is intended to connect “those parts of the experience” by bringing digital access together with clinical expertise and support in everyday settings.
Khawla Hammad, Founder and CEO at Takalam, said that while digital access can make taking the first step toward support more convenient, “what happens next matters just as much.” She added that working with alkalma provides an opportunity to connect the platform with clinical services and structured wellbeing programmes, supporting people online while enabling access to in-person care when needed.
Initial focus on the UAE, assessment for the GCC
The partners said the collaboration will initially focus on the UAE, with further opportunities for digital innovation and collaboration across the GCC to be assessed.
The strategic partnership was signed at the Burjeel booth during the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit, according to the release.
