Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) has signed a strategic partnership with Mizuho Financial Group to strengthen UAE–Japan cooperation and support the international expansion of Japanese start-ups.
In the agreement, DIFC says Mizuho start-up clients will gain access to DIFC’s innovation ecosystem, including market-entry and “soft-landing” support through the DIFC Innovation Hub.
DIFC also says eligible start-ups will be able to use Ignyte, its flagship digital innovation platform, for curated investor and corporate connections, mentorship and ecosystem programmes aligned with each business’s needs.
The DIFC announcement states the collaboration is designed to accelerate innovation and deepen economic ties between the UAE and Japan, including in areas such as fintech and cross-border activity within the DIFC environment.
Signing was attended by senior DIFC and Mizuho officials, and DIFC Authority CEO Arif Amiri said the centre’s established relationship with Japanese firms supports broader bilateral economic relations.
DIFC’s release also references the wider DIFC ecosystem, describing it as home to an innovation hub with more than 1,300 active technology and innovation firms spanning sectors such as fintech, AI, Web3 and sustainability.
