Jenin and The Big Heart Foundation launch The Last Harvest campaign to support Gaza’s olive farmers

Palestinian olive oil brand Jenin and The Big Heart Foundation have announced The Last Harvest, a cultural and humanitarian campaign intended to support Gaza’s olive farmers and preserve the traditions surrounding olive cultivation.

Announced in Dubai on 19 October 2026, the initiative combines storytelling with a collection of handcrafted vessels containing olive oil. The organisers say the campaign is designed to draw attention to the relationship between farming families, their land and a harvest tradition passed from one generation to the next.

Handcrafted vessels preserve a family’s olive oil

According to the campaign’s account, a family in Gaza shared a small quantity of oil from its harvest as a message of persistence. That oil became the starting point for an artistic project centred on preserving both a physical product and the experiences associated with it.

Palestinian artist Lameice Abu Aker designed the vessels, which were hand-blown by local artisans. Their forms reference the oil bottles traditionally found on Palestinian tables. Seed-shaped vials hold the oil above bases of burnt olive wood, a combination the organisers describe as representing loss and the possibility of regrowth.

Campaign links cultural heritage with agricultural restoration

Jenin and The Big Heart Foundation describe the initiative as an effort to support the restoration of olive cultivation and the livelihoods of farming families. The campaign uses the preserved oil and its accompanying story to connect the agricultural importance of the olive harvest with its place in Palestinian cultural life.

The organisers say campaign proceeds will go to the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature for programme implementation. The stated aim is to help sustain olive farming and the traditions associated with future harvests.
